Welcome to the first and only fic fest for SuperM. First created in 2019 after SuperM's debut and the first round in 2020, SuperM Fest went on an unexpected hiatus until 2022 - with Round Two now starting soon!The current event - Going 100 - can be found here

Round One featured 12 fics from 9 authors, totalling an amazing 103,097 words, across 7 ships - a majority of which are classed as SuperM rare pairs.

Fic Rec Thread + AO3 BookmarksThe community fic rec event is simply an event for everyone to recommend their favourite stories they've read. These get shared on the account and bookmarked by the fest account for easy access. If you'd like to recommend a fic, you can do so on this Google form!

Rules Going Forward⇢ Works must center on a SuperM ship, OT3/OT4/etc - this includes Baekhyun/Jongin, Taeyong/Mark and other 'same group' ships⇢ Works must be a minimum of 1,000 words and there is a maximum of 20,000 words⇢ This is an AO3 fest. An AO3 is required for participation. An AO3 will be needed for prompting for some rounds.
• If an AO3 cannot be registered due to the invitation wait list before prompting closes, please DM the fest — your prompt can still be added by the Mod team⇢ Check the banned content page - any fics using any of these items in passing must speak with the mods before hand. Explicit usage of these items is banned.⇢ Works must be complete (chaptered or one shots), must not be part of an ongoing series, and must be participant's own work. Plagiarism will result in a permaban immediately.⇢ Authors can continue their works after the fest in anyway (eg, a sequel, starting a series, etc)⇢ You do not have to prompt to claim nor do you have to claim to prompt

Please note this event will be done via AO3. Google Forms may be used in the future for prompting/claiming but, currently, the Prompt Meme Collection feature on AO3 will be used. Tutorials will be provided ahead of the event opening.🏎Going 100 is a recurring event focusing on any and all SuperM ships that have 99 or less fics on AO3. Each round will feature four distinct goals we hope to reach in the three month round. FAQs, scheduling and more information can be found below.💯Inspired by the SuperM song and since we were at 0km/h for a long while, I thought it was time for us to go hundred once more!For this event, prompts and fics are focusing on SuperM ships with 99 or less fics on Archive of Our Own. (I know, some ships are super small on AO3, but may have much larger fic amounts on other sites — this is an AO3 fest only, so AO3 stats are all the fest focuses on.)We hope to bring a lot more fics to a large amount of ships that have fallen under the line of "rare pair" and bring more people and joy to the relevant communities and shipdoms. We won't check every single possibility (we can definitely create a list for OT3/OT4/etc. if they're asked ahead of time if they'll be canon for the round), but if a prompt is found to have a RL with 100+ fics before the 1st of July 2022, it will will be deleted.
Character/Everyone, 2Chara (e.g. Taemin/Taemin) are all allowed as long as they have 99 or less and all prompts and fics have a main SuperM basisPlease note: if you'd like to claim a prompt from our prompt archive for Going 100, please contact the Fest before claiming! The prompt will be deleted from the Prompt Archive and added to the Going 100 Event for you. The Going 100 collection is anonymous for reveals whilst the Prompt Archive is not!🏎As this event is to bring extra fics for SuperM ships, there are 4 goals that the fest would like to try and reach by the end of the writing period (with luck!).These are:- To see Jongin/Mark (93) at 95-100 fics — round goal: 2-7 fics
- To see Taeyong & Mark (94) at 96-100 fics — round goal: 2-6 fics
- To see Taemin & Mark (0) get at least 1-3 fics — round goal: 1-3 fics

• The Halloween Event will start sign ups in August; you will have until October 20th to submit works.
• The Christmas Event is scheduled for November-December
• The official round 2 of the fest will begin early 2023

Banned Content⇢ Content such as non-con, incest, beastiliaty and pedophilia is banned from the fest.⇢ Dec 18 may not be written about in detail.⇢ Dub-con may be considered based on the plot but must be checked with the mods before hand. Dub-con is considered to be sexual interaction under the influence (drugs, alcohol, a/b/o hormones, fantasy creature mind control, etc). Dub-con will be considered on a case by case basis and must be tagged correctly⇢ Any tropes that are racist, transphobic, anti-disabled, and etc will not be allowed within the fest⇢ Use tags responsibily. For instance, if you are writing about Doctor/Patient, make sure you use the tags. Any fic that includes potentially triggering content (eg: mental health issues, power imbalanced relationships, and etc) must be tagged correctly. Mods will help with tags and prompt authors if they forget but an insistence on ignoring that tags are required/need to be added will result in a warning or potentially a ban.⇢ Harry Potter AUs have been banned from this fest. Whilst we respect it is not all trans people that find these uncomfortable, due to the creator's actions and what those actions have inspired by other prominent people within media, some of the trans community do find these hard to read, or to see on their timeline. For this reason, the decision was made to ban them for the safety of all potential participants and readers⇢ Lucas is currently unable to be used in this fest as a main character but may be used as a side character at author discretion. This is to ensure author safety going forward. This is not necessarily a perma ban and depends on the outcome of the situation going forward.

If you're curious about what ships have the least amount or the most amount written for them, you can check the count here! It's updated every Sunday as of Sunday 19th June. The 'Total' count in the corner shows the amount of fics tagged with "SuperM (Korea Band)" on AO3 each Sunday.

There's been a lot of suggestions for potential future rounds. Here's a list of everything that's been suggested ahead of time. Always feel free to recommend round ideas, but also please remember some of them may have already been recommended!

All content on this page must be tagged in all works for our fest. This is done for the safety of participants, readers, mod(s) and the AO3 fandom browsing new works.

  • Any form of mental health issues (e.g. depression, eating disorder(s), anxiety), and including actions taken due to these conditions (eg: s/h)

  • Physical illnesses, especially terminal

  • Any form of addiction (drinking, drugs, gambling, etc.)

  • Weed should also be tagged under the addiction point. This can be done via "Recreational Drug Usage" if used

  • Any instances of racism, ableism, queerphobia, and etc, even if minor. Any form of discrimination must be tagged correctly.

  • Age difference relationships. The fest classes these as 10 or more years between the romantic participants

  • Minor and Side pairings must be tagged with the correct Additional Tag and not the Relationship tag. E.g. A side pairing of Taemin/Jongin would use the tag "Minor Kim Jongin | Kai/Lee Taemin". This is to not accidentally boost ship numbers for rare pairs when the rare pairs are not the focus of the fic

  • Dub-con must be tagged. If it is sexual interaction under the influence then the "Drunk Sex" (or other related tag) must be present

  • Power imbalanced relationships - Teacher/Student, Doctor/Patient, and etc must be tagged with the correct tags according to the situation

  • Any mentions of Dec 18 must be forewarned in Author's Notes

And lastly:Whilst we won't dictate how people deem the correct way to tag their fandom tags, we do ask authors to be mindful about using the SHINee/NCTV/EXO tags for their SuperM-centric fics. Use tags responsibly!Also, there is a canon SuperM Fest tag! Whilst we won't make this a mandatory tag, it would be nice to see fics using them to make searching for our fest fics easier!

Why is Lucas not allowed as a main character in rounds and the fic rec, but is claimable in the Prompt Archive?
This comes down to three things — author consent, author safety and also mod safety.Firstly, Lucas has been left out of the fic rec events as a main character because the authors may not be aware that they are even being recommended. They may log on to a surplus of negative comments, harassment and similar. The last thing we want to do is to cause authors problems or potential harassment.Lucas is not currently available for future rounds as a main character due to the current circumstances. At the moment, we do not know if that will change and it depends on the outcome of future situations. This is to again — protect mods and authors. It's usually the Zaqa that takes the brunt of complaints that the Mods have to look through and that isn't healthy for us, nor is it fair for an author to be getting harassment for a work, or having to sit with low statistics compared to the other works in the fest and etc.Lucas has been added to the Round One prompt archive as the prompts are a large part of the fest's beginnings. Whilst they are there for people to claim if they do so wish, this comes down again to author consent — they are aware these fics will not be shared nor promoted on the fest page for the current time, and are fully aware of everything going on. They were added purely to keep all history of the fest together, and if they're claimed, they happen to be claimed.Why is the fest not using 'otp:true'?As handy as OTP:TRUE is, mods found some discrepancy whilst using the search format whilst experimenting on the Taemin/Ten tag.Taemin/Ten has 74 fictions on the Archive which drops to 32 when otp:true is added. Whilst this filters out fics that do not actually focus on the ship, we noticed it also cuts out actual ship content, including:• Any fic with 2 or more tags will be removed, meaning that fics with both Taemin&Ten and Taemin/Ten, or Taemin/Ten and Ten&YangYang also get removed from the search
• OT3(+) is not classed in the search formatWhen looking into it, we found there was more Taemin/Ten content removed from the tag than non Taemin/Ten works and thus, will not be used.
